The Path That Led Me Here

My early career as a professional revolved around horse shows - riding and developing young performance horses in the hunter, jumper, and dressage ring.

Over time, those experiences changed how I understood training and led me to a question that now guides my work:

How can we help horses feel more confident, safe, and fulfilled in what they do?

Looking At The Horse Beyond The Label

I often find myself working with horses who have received labels such as aggressive, naughty, explosive, or “too much.

Over time, they’ve taught me that when we slow down and listen more carefully, we discover they’re simply trying to communicate something we haven’t yet learned to hear.

Because of this, my work centers on creating an environment where learning can feel safe, clear, and collaborative.

Through positive reinforcement, horses are given the space to think, participate, and gradually build confidence in the process.

Setting Horses Up for Success

While supporting horses who have faced challenges in training is deeply important to me, I’m equally passionate about developing performance horses and starting young horses in a way that sets them up for long-term success.

A thoughtful foundation early in a horse’s life not only supports soundness and longevity, but also allows them to develop into confident, reliable partners who genuinely enjoy their work.

I will do everything I can to help them feel safe, understood, and capable in what they do.

Background & Experience

I’ve spent much of my career working within the sport horse world, competing in hunter/jumper, eventing, and dressage. I began riding professionally at a young age and spent more than a decade developing young performance horses in several high-level training barns in northwest Florida and Ocala.

I also earned my USDF Bronze Medal during that time.

Early in my career, I worked as an equine sports-medicine veterinary assistant, where I gained hands-on experience with lameness evaluations, rehabilitation programs, and the management of performance horses recovering from injury.

That experience continues to inform my work today, helping me better understand how physical comfort, soundness, and training all influence a horse’s behavior, confidence, and ability to perform.

Today, my work brings these experiences together, allowing me to support both the physical and emotional well-being of the horse while helping riders develop clear, compassionate communication with their partners.

I’m based in Oak Harbor, Washington, and offer in-person training as well as virtual training and consulting for owners seeking thoughtful, practical support for their horses.

Whether you're starting a young horse, navigating a particular challenge, or somewhere in between, my goal is always the same: to help both horse and human move forward with confidence and clarity.
